GENERAL QUESTIONS
Step 1- Goal setting. The first step starts with the participants or participants representative reaching us to discuss about the participants goals and how we can support these goals on our platform. Most participants who will be directed to our platform are the Participants looking for community participation support or assistance to run a micro- enterprise including seeking to explore hobbies.
Step 2- Sign service Agreement. The second step will be to create a Service Agreement with agreed hours and prices. Once this has been done, we then create a tailored support plan in line with the participants Ndis
goals and use these goals as a guide to assist the participants achieve them.
Step 3- Account sign up. We then assist the participants to create an account on our platform. This account will mainly be monitored by the participants or representatives as they will be in control of posting their products. Participants will receive ongoing mentorship and support from support workers. Support workers duties and responsibilities will to mentor, encourage and offer moral support but not run the business for the participants. It is the responsibility of the participants to run their own account as the success of the micro-business will depend on one’s own effort and determination.
Step 4- Mode of support. Openkart will mainly support participants to run their micro-enterprise both virtually and in person. Once we assist the participants set up accounts online, Participants can expect to get their micro-enterprise running by gaining exposure both online and in the community. We will occasionally assist the participants display their products out in the community in our social groups and community fairs. Though we encourage growth and profit for the participants while they run their micro-business, our main goal is to follow our values which is to offer our participants the sense of identity and belonging in our community rather than focus on profit.
Step 5- Account safety. Our platform will mainly be used by NDIS participants and their representatives trading between other Ndis participants, hence creating a save platform for our most vulnerable people in the society. We are working on introducing the platform to other non-Ndis community members but in order to make this happen, we will first ensure the platform is safe enough for everyone as the safety of the participants is our main priority and we want to ensure that this isn’t compromised. Meanwhile, we have partnered with third party parcel delivery services where the participants can drop off parcels at their nearest drop off points to minimise interaction for safety purposes. Participants who wish to book pick up of parcels will do this out of their own risk and the platform will not take any responsibility for any security breach that the participants will experience beyond the platform. Openkart is not a registered NDIS Company. However, we offer NDIS services to participants who have Self-managed or plan managed plans. We are unable to offer services to participants who are on Ndis- managed plans but working on registration in the near future in order to provide services to everyone.
We offer a range of support services to meet our participants goals but the main supports include;
Micro-enterprise support.
This support is mainly for Participants who are looking for self-employment type of gig. In this type of support, Participants can expect to plan and launch a business on our platform, monitor their account which will then create a sense of purpose so as to fulfill their goals. We strongly encourage participant to keep their accounts active. Participants will get mentoring session but will be expected to run the business independently. Please visit the ‘categories’ section to find out what items you can sell and post on our platform. Any items that will not meet our posting policy will be automatically be deleted.
Social and community participation.
Other support includes, social and community participation under these categories;

Our prices are negotiable but at times we might be required to charge the maximum rate as per the NDIS price guidelines due to IT related expenses. Our topmost priority is to keep your account safe by implementing software’s that will keep your accounts safe from cyber-attacks. Before signing the Service Agreement, you will be aware of what you will be charged. Our company is open and transparent to all participants and their representatives.

our platform will mainly be used by NDIS participants and the NDIS community in general hence maintaining a safe and engaging platform. We follow the Australian privacy law to ensure all accounts are kept safe. For more information on how we handle your data, you can check our privacy policy. We have partnered with third party compliance companies to ensure everyone coming in our platform is screened including our support workers. For your piece of mind, our workers will be screened at a minimum on the following;
- NDIS worker screening check
- National police clearance
- WWCC Working with children check (platform will mainly be operated by NDIS participants who are 18yrs and over)
- Valid Australian Driver’s license
- Valid vehicle registration and comprehensive car insurance.
SELLERS GUIDE
Registered users can include a bit of information about themselves such as a name, phone number and location, profile photo in your Account details.
- To increase the chance of getting a good response, follow these simple tips:
- Include 5 pictures in your Ad. You can add up to 5 pictures for each listing.
- When you subscribe you get more chance for increased listings e.g. Business package gives you 25 listings
- Make your Ad stand out by giving detailed description as possible. For example, when selling a product include its brand, model number, condition, and features.
- If you are flexible on price, you will select the option of "Negotiable" under price.
- Make it convenient for the buyer to pick up the item; using our website chat feature to let them know where the item is located and when you will be available.
- OPENKART offers ad boosting features which can increase the visibility of your Ad. To promote any existing Ad please go to My Listing Section in your My Account area. Click on “Promote” button on respective Ad and you will see additional Ad boosting options packages. You can select a package and proceed for payment as per Payment Methods available on the website.
- Listing items: To make listing easy, prepare a list of all the items around your house that you want to sell. Give information about the condition of the item and the original price if possible.
- Distinctive descriptive: Give a brief description of the item by giving as much as possible, including its features, a brief history, condition of item, reasons for selling. This will give you a high chance at selling the item.
- Be visual with your Ad: The more visual your item is, the better chance you will get to have a successful sale. Include good and clear to maximize potential sale.
- Do not deceive: When selling an item be honest as possible by advising the buyer on the product e.g if the product got any defects and the price should match the condition of the item.
- Stay safe when meeting: It is recommended to meet in a busy public place if possible and bring a close friend with you. Before meeting with the buyer, ask for personal identification on the chat messages.
- Engage with buyer: Be active with the buyer as soon as the chat pops up. Give the buyer as much information as possible and be open and honest. Some buyers may ask many questions and it is best to be patient as possible.
- Getting back refund: Openkart doesn’t offer refunds, however if you post an Ad and we delete it due to not meeting our policies, we will refund to your nominated Bank Account

STAYING SAFE ON OPENKART
If you suspect or have been defrauded, it is best to report the incident to the local police.
You should also report if you have been sold stolen goods. The police will investigate the matter and contact you.
- Scammers will try every tactic to try and defraud you. Do not respond to any suspicious links, emails, or chat messages as this may be a scam. Stay safe always and be aware every time you are trading.
- Other than the financial damage these scams bring, you run a risk to infect your computer with viruses. Be aware and delete any suspicious email giving you links to click.
HOW DO I POST AN AD ON OPENKART
- If you are already registered with OPENKART then simply click on My Account Icon at top right corner of the page and login. Once login click on the “+ Post Your Ad” button at the top right corner. If you have existing Ad posting package active then you can go ahead with Step by Step Ad posting form. Select the appropriate category for your Ad, insert relevant information about your Ad, upload photos and click Submit. Your Ad will become live on the website once it is approved OPENKART moderators. In case of any clarification about your Ad, moderator will send you email message asking for more information before approving your Ad.
- If you are not yet registered with OPENKART then you can click on “My Account” icon at the top right corner. On the next page please fill necessary details about yourself and create your account. To post an Ad you are required to purchase Ad package from the available plans. Once you purchase any plan you can start posting Ads.
When posting your ad simply enter your Address, City, or Suburb in the Address field and you will see Google Map Auto suggesting your location. You can also your GPS feature of your device to auto detect your current location for posting you Ad Location.
- To upload photos for your Ad you can click on the Browse Images button under Images section on your Ad posting page. You can simply drag and drop images on the gray box to upload. You will see image uploading progress on each image thumbnail.
- Please ensure to upload image which is maximum 3 MB in size. Recommended image dimension is (W) 870 x 493 (H) pixels for best viewing experience. You can upload JPG, JPEG & PNG image types.
How can I reduce image size?
If you have issues uploading images and these were related to image size then please follow instructions below.
Use free tools like http://bulkresizephotos.com/ or https://shortpixel.com and this will allow you to resize your huge images simply by defining scale image % or by defining length of pixels.
Under My Account page click on the My Listings menu from the left sidebar. You can see all your Ads posted till date on this page. You can click “Edit” or “Delete” button on respective Ad.
BUYERS GUIDE TO USE OPENKART
To find ads in your suburb, state, region, area or across Australia you simply enter the name of your location and Google Map will auto suggest a nearest location as per your input.
You can also use GPS of your device to define your current location and adjust the Search Radius field value which is distance in Kilometers from the location you have selected.
When you open an ad details page you’ll see the option to reach to Seller using two ways. You can send an email message by clicking “Email to Seller” button or you can Live Chat with the Seller subject to availability of the Seller on that time. All your Live chat messages will be saved in your “My Account” section under Chat menu.
